Whiskey Sour

Don't let the "sour" in the name tempt you into reaching for the sour mix. A purist's Whiskey Sour gets to be that way with nothing but Mother Nature's own sour mix that she likes to call lemon juice.

A quick word about the whiskey—just about any nice blended whiskey will do, except for Scotch.

Fill a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and shake well:

1.5 ounces of blended whiskey
The juice of 1/2 lemon
1 teaspoon sugar
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with maraschino cherry
